Beginner pianos have never sounded this good. The Korg B1 digital piano is the perfect piano for any occasion. Boasting a slim and modern design, the B1 will naturally complement any room in your house.
At the heart of the Korg B1 are eight highly-detailed instruments. Boasting three pristine acoustic piano sounds alongside other popular voices, you will always have the right sound for your performance. And thanks to the powerful 9W + 9W speakers, the B1 offers a truly immersive experience.
But a great sounding piano also needs to feel natural. And thanks to Korg’s NH keyboard, the B1 feels fantastic. The natural weighting provides a heavier touch in the lower registers, and slowly transitions to a lighter touch in the upper registers – just like a traditional acoustic piano.
Similar to other digital pianos, the Korg B1 uses sampling technology to capture and reproduce the exciting tone of an acoustic piano. But unlike other digital pianos, Korg has used high-end memory components in order to deliver a sound with is more accurate, authentic, and expressive than similarly priced instruments. But the B1 doesn’t just play the one sample for each note. Thanks to the meticulously recorded sounds, the Korg B1 can also reproduce a sympathetic string vibration and damper resonance that give the piano its personality and character.
Depending on your style of performance, a concert grand piano might not always be appropriate. This is why Korg have included a Jazz Piano and Ballad Piano so you can find the right sound for you. But the B1 isn’t just for pianists. The B1 also includes electric pianos, a harpsichord, pipe organ, and an electric organ so that you can explore and experiment with a wide range of tonal character.
Optimal sound reproduction
The B1 has been carefully engineered to recreate the sound of an acoustic piano. By equipping the B1 with a full-range speaker system, Korg have managed to produce a digital piano which enables you to enjoy incredible sound projection without the need for external amplification. The B1 even boasts a passive radiator speaker design which produces a more natural sound, while ensuring the weight of the piano is low.
To achieve the rich natural tones of an acoustic piano, the B1 uses Korg’s servo-assisted MFB technology. MFB (Motional Feedback) technology controls the movement of the speaker cone, allowing low frequencies to be reproduced with minimal distortion. In practice, the velocity of the speaker cone is detected, and a signal that compensates for the mechanical response of the speaker and speaker chamber is returned to the amp. What does this mean for you? Any colouration or distortion caused by the speaker enclosure is immediately corrected, ensuring that you only hear a clear and natural sound.
Hammer action
Korg pride themselves on creating incredible digital instruments with a touch that resembles an acoustic piano. Carefully equipped with NH (Natural Weighted Hammer) keyboard action, the B1 offers an incredibly authentic touch. This action provides a heavier response in the lower registers, with lighters touches in the upper scale – just like a traditional piano. Thanks to the Korg NH keyboard, you can explore any style and genre, and express your truest intention.
Damper pedal
The B1 digital piano comes packed with a metal damper (sustain) pedal, which provides impressive stability and a comfortable feel underfoot. The single damper pedal adds to the expression of the digital piano, catering to a range of different playing styles and providing versatile playing options.
Partner mode
Thanks to Korg, the Partner Mode effectively splits the keyboard into two side-by-side keyboards, with each pitched in the same range. This is an incredible feature for advancing students! It allows you to practise with your teacher by playing the same piece at the same time. Enjoy your learning journey with the B1.
