Like all high-pitched Yamaha trumpets, the YTR-9635 E/Eb has a crisp, crystal-clear attack and is easy to control in the high register. Although originally used primarily for baroque music, they are now also used for very complex passages. Primarily for safety reasons, but also because their sound provides greater clarity and a more lyrical quality.
The YTR-9635 (ML bore 11.65mm (0.459″)) is supplied with two sound pieces (123mm (4-7/8″)) of yellow-brass and two sets of hoops for tuning in E or Eb respectively. This makes it particularly suitable for playing both Hummel and Haydn. It is a silver-plated heavyweight trumpet and a 14B4 mouthpiece is included.
