TASCAM recommends using a card listed on its officially tested-media list, particularly when recording or punching in across a large number of tracks.

An SD card is not included.

File Format

Supported audio-file format:

• BWF
• WAV

Broadcast Wave files can be transferred between the IF-MTR32 and compatible digital audio workstation software.

The card can also import BWF files created by:

• A compatible DAW
• Another IF-MTR32
• A compatible audio-file preparation system

Punch-In and Overdubbing

The IF-MTR32 supports simultaneous punch-in and punch-out across all available tracks:

• Up to 32 tracks at 48 kHz
• Up to 16 tracks at 96 kHz

Its Overwrite function allows recording to begin from a selected point within an existing project.

The unit provides one level of Undo and Redo.

Pre-Recording

The pre-recording function continuously holds approximately two seconds of incoming audio in memory.

When recording is started, the two seconds immediately before the Record command are included. This helps prevent the beginning of a performance, announcement or live event from being missed.
