Tascam Sonicview 24dp Interactive Digital Mixing Station

TASCAM Sonicview 24dp Interactive Digital Mixing Station

The Sonicview 24dp provides the same audio and mixing capabilities while adding support for redundant DC power using the included TASCAM PS-P2450 AC adapter.

TASCAM Sonicview 24dp

  • Same mixing, processing and connection capabilities
  • Built-in external DC power input
  • Supports redundant power operation
  • TASCAM PS-P2450 AC adapter included
  • Continues operating from the second power source if one power supply fails

Both models have the same dimensions, weight and 85W power consumption.

Mixing Capacity

Input processing:

  • 40 mono input channels
  • Two stereo input channels
  • Four stereo effects returns

Output buses:

  • 22 Flex buses configurable as auxiliary, subgroup or matrix buses
  • One Main L/R stereo bus
  • Four stereo effects-send buses
  • 32 buses available in total

Built-in effects:

  • Four stereo multi-effects processors

The Flex buses can be configured for monitor mixes, subgroups, zone feeds, recording sends or matrix outputs.

TASCAM VIEW Interface

The TASCAM VIEW operating system combines touch control, physical rotary encoders, motorised faders and channel displays.

The Sonicview 24 provides three independent 7-inch colour touchscreens. Different channel sections and processing pages can be displayed simultaneously, reducing the need to move repeatedly between menu pages.

The control surface also provides:

  • 24 colour-coded rotary encoders
  • Channel-name and metering displays
  • 18 assignable User Keys
  • Seven custom fader layers
  • A configurable master section
  • Eight DCA groups

Motorised Faders

  • 24 channel faders
  • One master fader
  • 100 mm fader travel
  • Fully motorised operation
  • Custom-layer assignment
  • Sends-on-fader operation

The faders automatically move to the stored positions when changing layers, recalling snapshots or selecting different mixes.

Mixer Engine and Latency

Mixer processing:

  • 96 kHz
  • 54-bit floating-point FPGA engine

Mixer-engine latency:

  • Two samples
  • Approximately 20.8 microseconds

Analogue-input-to-analogue-output latency:

  • Approximately 0.51 ms

The mixer engine and control-surface operating systems are separated. This allows the audio engine to continue passing sound if the control-surface operating system needs to restart.

Microphone and Line Inputs

Number of XLR inputs:

  • 24

Connector type:

  • XLR-3-31 female
  • Balanced

Input impedance:

  • 5 kΩ or higher

Input level with pad off:

  • Minimum: −62 dBu
  • Maximum: +12 dBu

Input level with pad on:

  • Minimum: −42 dBu
  • Maximum: +32 dBu

Phantom power:

  • Individually switchable 48V on every XLR input

Each input uses a TASCAM Class 1 HDIA microphone preamp with remotely controlled gain and high input headroom.

Additional TRS Line Inputs

Channels 17–24 also provide balanced 6.3 mm TRS line-input connections.

This gives eight channels a choice between:

  • XLR microphone/line input
  • Balanced TRS line input

The XLR and TRS connection on the same channel cannot be used as two separate mixer inputs simultaneously.

Analogue Inserts

Two analogue insert connections are available on input channels 15 and 16.

Connector type:

  • 6.3 mm TRS

Wiring:

  • Tip: Send
  • Ring: Return
  • Sleeve: Ground

The inserts can connect external compressors, equalisers or other analogue signal processors.
